Afghanistan: Taliban captures territory as NATO withdrawal continues | Source: Euronews

The Taliban has captured more territory in Afghanistan in recent days from fleeing Afghan forces, as NATO troops continue to pull out of the country. The Taliban now control roughly a third of all 421 districts and district centers in Afghanistan.

German military completes withdrawal from Afghanistan | Source: Asia Plus

After nearly 20 years, Germany’s Afghanistan mission has officially ended.

The German military concluded its withdrawal from Afghanistan after almost two decades.  The end of Germany’s Afghanistan mission comes as the Taliban in Afghanistan rapidly seize new territory from the US-backed government in Kabul.  Taliban forces are also positioning themselves around provincial capitals, prompting fears that they will seize full control once all foreign troops leave.

Turkey seeks US support to maintain troops in Afghanistan | Source: Ariana News

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country would need “diplomatic, logistic and financial assistance” from the United States if it were to maintain troops in Afghanistan to protect and run Kabul’s international airport, following the withdrawal of other NATO troops.
